Medallion of Saint Stephen - Στέφανος Stéphanos - meaning: wreath, crown, the protomartyr or first martyr of Christianity. Saint Stephen is the patron saint of masons and stonemasons, carriages and horses, tailors, carpenters and weavers. He is an intercessor for a good death. It helps against headaches, against stones and pricking in the side. His attributes are the stones with which he was stoned, Gospel Book and a palm branch.
December 26 is called "Saint Stephen's Day". Saint Stephen is also commemorated on 4 January. In the Armenian Apostolic and Armenian Catholic Churches, Saint Stephen's Day falls on 25 December.

On the B side is an ornamental black inscription in Latin: “Ora pro nobis!” meaning “Pray for us!”.
